The way you show up as a coach is part of the coaching. Your presence. The quality of your attention. Your ability to listen deeply, stay connected to yourself, and be fully with another person as they explore what matters most.
Your embodied presence shapes the space you create with your client. It can support them to connect more deeply with their own wisdom, recognise what they truly long for, and build the capacity to take skillful action toward what matters most.
WHO THIS IS FOR
Coaches ready to deepen beyond technique
Coaches working toward an ICF ACC or PCC credential who need to complete their mentor coaching requirement
Coaches who want to deepen their presence beyond technique and frameworks
Coaches who want thoughtful, detailed feedback on their actual coaching
Coaches curious about somatic work without committing to a long certification pathway
Coaches who sense there is more available in their coaching but aren't yet consistently accessing it
Coaches who want their coaching to feel more natural, relational, and embodied
WHAT WE WORK ON
This is not about adding more tools. It is about how you show up.
We use the ICF Core Competencies as a developmental framework — exploring not only whether a competency is present in your coaching, but how you embody it.
Embodying the ICF Core Competencies
We pay particular attention to presence, deep listening, curiosity, partnership, trust, and awareness — and how you create an embodied relational space in which your client can explore more deeply, access their own wisdom, and discover what becomes possible.
Your "coach body"
How are you holding yourself during a coaching session? What are you communicating without realising it? We explore your posture, breath, attention, energy, and embodied presence — and how these influence the relational space between you and your client.
Coaching without an agenda
Develop your capacity to be fully present with your client — listening deeply, staying curious, and trusting their capacity to discover what matters most. We work with the subtle ways coaches can begin leading, solving, or working harder than the client.
Working with activation in real time
Coaches get "grabbed" too. A client challenges you. Silence becomes uncomfortable. You notice yourself wanting to solve, direct, or rescue. We explore how you recognise your own activation and develop the capacity to regulate and return to presence while staying in relationship. The goal isn't simply to become less reactive, it's to become increasingly available to the person in front of you.
Your shape as a coach
None of us arrives in coaching as a blank slate. Our histories, strengths, protective patterns, and ways of relating all influence how we coach. We explore what has shaped you, what you may be bringing into the coaching relationship without realising it, and how you can consciously develop the coach you want to become.
Somatic practices
You'll develop simple, repeatable practices that support your presence before, during, and after coaching sessions. These aren't additional coaching "tools" — they are practices that help you return to yourself, deepen your attention, and bring your whole presence to the coaching relationship.
LEARNING THROUGH YOUR ACTUAL COACHING
What happens when we look closely at your real coaching
A significant part of this work involves looking closely at what happens when you coach. During the programme, you will submit three recordings of your coaching for detailed review.
01
Detailed written feedback
Each recording is reviewed against the ICF Core Competencies and considered through a developmental and somatic lens — identifying what is already present and effective, alongside specific areas for continued development.
02
Dedicated debrief session
We use a full session to explore the recording together — not simply to evaluate what you did, but to understand what was happening for you as the coach, what you were noticing, and where your patterns may have appeared.
03
Development over time
Across three recordings, we can begin to see patterns and development over time — rather than judging your coaching from a single snapshot. This is where the real developmental work becomes visible.
A SOMATIC APPROACH · STROZZI-INFORMED
Embodiment woven into how you coach
This mentor coaching is informed by my training in somatic coaching through the Strozzi Institute, Co-Active Coaching, IFS-informed approaches through Coaches Rising, healing breathwork facilitation, and more than 26 years of working with leaders and teams.
Rather than teaching you another coaching method, we explore how these perspectives can deepen your presence and effectiveness within the coaching approach you already use.
This is not a somatic coaching certification or a replacement for formal somatic training. It is a space to integrate embodiment directly into your development as a coach.
