​I’m Hollie Rottman, a somatic coach supporting high-achieving women through the most demanding chapters of life - from burnout, divorce, and career transitions to building new ventures and returning to the wise, grounded self they’ve always carried within.​​​

​​I know these moments because I’ve lived them.

Years ago, I found myself crying in the shower in Brazil on the day of 9/11, overwhelmed not only by the devastation unfolding in the U.S., but by a wave of unexpected emotion I couldn’t explain. Something in me cracked open. I had spent much of my life being steady, strong, capable. But in that moment, I began to recognise just how much I’d been holding in.

What I didn’t know then but understand now through somatic work is that our nervous system holds onto the ways we’ve learned to stay safe. For me, that meant staying composed, pushing through, and rarely letting sadness be seen.

Then came motherhood


After a year of bliss, my daughter entered a phase of intense emotions, and I froze. Her cries felt like more than I could hold. I didn’t yet know why, but I knew something in me was shutting down.

In somatic coaching, we don’t need to dig through the past. We meet what arises in the body now with compassion. And that’s what changed everything for me.

 

I began to notice those moments of overwhelm as messengers, not problems to fix. I practised staying present with what was hard, and slowly, the charge softened. I found more space. More breath. More choice.

That shift didn’t just transform how I parent. It changed how I meet stress, emotion, and challenge in every area of my life.

Why do I do this work?

​

With over 20 years of experience in global HR, NGOs, leadership development, and team facilitation, I’ve coached senior leaders in high-stakes environments across the U.S., Latin America, and Europe.

​

But strategy alone won’t save you when your nervous system is shutting down.  You can’t mind-set your way out of a survival response.  That’s why I turned to somatic coaching - and why I now guide others through it.

What is Somatic Coaching?
